Default trouble bleeding brakes

hello all, I decided to flush my brake lines and long story short. I did a gravity bleed on the passenger front and all is well until the bleed stopped running. there is now a significant amount of air in the system and I cannot pull any more fluid to the passenger front or move any liquid with the pedal.

I am thinking there is some sort of fail safe built into the brake system for loss of pressure in order to lock out the broken line and keep pressure in the other three lines.

perhaps, if that is the case it has something to do with this picture. any idea how to reset it?
