You could even drill all holes a bit bigger to allow more play. Bear in mind that your soft top won't fit anymore after you did this.
A former racing driver (Shelby team) claimed 500 to 800 rpm more down the long straights with a 289. But that rake was drastic. Angle had probably discussed here a few times.
