Mike, look at the photo in post #4. Just cut the blanket in a gentle curve toward the back of the car like you see there. Mine is actually much wider than it needs to be because I installed them before the sidepipes were on and didn't want to cut it short. Your leg isn't going to hit the pipe that far back. I've thought about trimming it but never seem to bother because it works fine as is.
