In Florida (since 2023) if the kit car manufacture is registered with NHTSA and Florida Sunbiz you need The MSO a notarized Bill of Sale a simple catch all form with the REPLICA block checked and payment of the Tax and Title bill. This also makes the date of the car title the year Replica is built to resemble, also uses the identification # on the MSO as the VIN. If manufacture is not registered First your take the MSO, weight certificate, and notarized Bill of sale and simple form with KITCAR block checked to our DMV. They charge you the tax and give you a inspection date. Safety inspection first and verification of odometer. Safety inspections seem to cause the most problems do to uneducated techs. All this is done on a trailer or roll back. Please don't forget your insurance binder. Florida requires Florida car insurance. you also have to pay for each inspection and reinspection. When you are done you titie will show a Kitcar built on the date as new a new VIN #. Also during safety inspection some of the techs require engine, heads, trans any other major parts serial #"s so they can be checked against stolen parts. Most first inspections are failing anf people are looking for dates and times that the tech is just going through the motions such as a day before a holiday or Friday after lunch.
