Welcome to the club.
I'm willing to bet that your fender rubbing problem is not due to spring/shock rates, unless you know that it is ridiculously low. My guess is that you have the same problem I've noticed on CMC's and most other Cobra kits running a Mustang 8.8 rear suspension -- the chassis (forward) attach points for the lower control arms are lower than they should be. So you take a not-so-great-in-the-first-place suspension and screw up the geometry, and get something that no Cobra deserves.
I've re-designed my suspension and re-building it to prove this....... stick around.
