Oddly, I had two older ERAs - 178 and 755. Both shifters seemed to be shorter than 838. One car had a T5 and the other a TKO.

I asked Peter P if they had change suppliers. He didn't think the shift handles had changed back as far as he could remember.

FYI, I used a MIG welder and was able to not damage any chrome that showed.
