Jerry,
The windsor motors have the small bleed hole next to the thermostat which generally bleeds the air out of the heads and intake. When I filled the system, it held 2 1/2 gallons of water. When it heats up, it pukes a little out to my recovery tank, but I never have to add more that 12-16 ounces to the system to top it off. Of course, when I do top it off, it pukes back out due to the expansion. I think if I get the motor to run cooler exhaust wise, the in town coolant temps should drop as well. I'm currently waiting for my alternator to come back from the shop, so maybe this weekend I can test my theories.
