Default Pat's Burnout and fallout

Cranky,
Actually, I've noticed for the last couple of years that it is becoming standard procedure for many of the NASCAR Winston Cup level race winners to do "this kind of crap" to celebrate their victory. Granted these burn-outs are on the track after the cool down/victory laps and the other drivers are off the track, but the do-nuts in the infield area grass between the track and the pits are not. Heaven forbid that a celebration do-nut gets out of control and a pit crew gets tagged.

AS FOR REAL RACERS.....I'm pretty sure you championed the cause of NASCAR drivers in the IRL/CART vs NASCAR real racers/racing debate. However, I did not do a search to review that subject.

I am personally not against burnouts or do-nuts, but I usually refrain to extend tire life and keep from breaking something expensive. I am a lot wilder with our 5 hp go-cart here on the farm. I don't like the NASCAR trend towards post-race burn-outs and do-nuts to celebrate a victory. I always secretly hope they blow up the engine and have to push their car to victory lane!
