I have never seen filings in a NEW oil pump. If you have the pump was probably a take-off something that failed. Or maybe it came from a mass retailer that repackaged it. You might want to consider looking a new supplier.. I am sure the guys in Madera are great but you might be overthinking the process. Sealed Power and Melling high volume pumps give about 50 psi at idle and 70-80 at 3500 (from my experience)..
