A&C has had problems with their rears. I know they have used several outside fabricators in the past.
I know of two cases with shortened axles that lost their hardness and caused the splines to twist.
Mine had Chinese wheel bearings in it and I powdered one after about 10k of riding. Thankful that it didn't damage anything else.
I know of one case where the weld on the housing (where it was shortened) broke. This person also had one of the twisted axle splines mentioned above. Joe of A&C made good on it and sent, I believe, a new Currie rear housing or axles or both.
Also, A&C chassis and rear tends to have too high a pinion angle, from the few I've seen. I replaced my upper control arms with Metco adjustable ones. Brought the pinion down and the car runs great.
