Those cast aluminum COBRA
oil pans look so trick, don't they. Problem is, cast aluminum doesn't dent very well. It cracks, or breaks, and when that happens, it doesn't hold
oil very well. The bottom of the
oil pan sits about 4" off the road surface, and a speed bump taken a little too fast will take it out, not to mention other usual road hazards. Don't think you really want to go there unless this is a show car, and not driven.
Consider the baffled steel oil pans by Canton, Moroso, Milodon, that do what they're designed to do; keep oil fed to the oil pump, even when dented.
