This may be more of a problem with Classic Roadsters and Excaliburs than people think. Have diagnosed several in last year.

Firewall flex. Stock setup is '78 MII pull cable, and small plastic MII firewall spacer. Would it surprise you to know that every time you push down on the clutch, you're applying a load of 150 - 180 pounds at the firewall. Glass won't take this kind of flexing.

Fix is to upgrade clutch cable to late Mustang aftermarket (BBK) clutch quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster, along with a sturdier firewall mount. All available from Summit except mount which you can make. Quadrant has to be grafted onto uper clutch pedal. Works like Nautilus machine.
