Check out "Building Ford Short-Track Power" from Ford Racing. Also "How to Build Horsepower" Vol. I and Vol II by David Vizard. (Not Ford or small-block specific but good reading) Also "1001 High Performance Tips" by Wayne Scraba for all around good common sensical (?) pointers on building and racing.
