Default No big deal

I have done this switch on a 69 Mach I several years ago and it is really not much effort at all. Go to the salvage yard and pull off the brake and clutch pedals and all the hardware ie: clutch linkage, t/o brg lever etc. Of course you could put a hydraulic t/o bearing in place of the conventional one . You will need to pick up a pilot bearing ($15) and a good flywheel, clutch, PP. and throw out bearing. The trans mounts are the the same and the correct shifter hole (if I recall) is already marked by Ford and just needs to be cut out w/ a jig saw. Drive shaft length should be the same althought you probably have 308 gears in the rear end now. You may want to pick up another pumpkin w/ 325 or 350 gears.

Lets see about $300 for a good clutch and pressure plate assy, then about $200 for a flywheel, and you will probably spend about $20 at the salvage and then what ever you are going to pay for your trans and bell housing.

Find someone with a standard in there Torino, Mustang, Galaxie, or Fairlane that wants to put in an automatic and trade as much as you can. Good luck.
