From what I have seen and heard you may be able to lift the car with a quick jack, but do you want to? Was the mounting and hardware made to support the weight? If and when then flex a bit, what are they going to do the the body? I have seen a number of pictures of originals used for racing where the hardware and body around the opening looked all askew.

Aside from that, a big 'L' triangulated with rollers that will take the weight on a axle through the tube on the ground. The lever as long as you can pull it. Still probably better put to guys on it to pull it up. That is the way I have seen them.

We used some in formula racing but they lifted on a flat plate on the tub. Different geometry as well.
