Basically it is your bod. The suit and helmet only help in an incident. Determine how badly you
are willing to be injured and proceed to the check out.
Example at SAAC open track your only requirement is a Snell 95 (i think) helmet in the starter
groups, yet they run as fast as the vintage racers who are required to wear Nomex. Don't understand the logic.
My advise, buy the best you can afford.
