You can probably use me as an example of what not to do. The B & B Cable is very long. A picture would not help much. Since the cable was so long I went "up, down and back around." I have a tremec 3550 the cable went along the driver's side frame rail, I think it made a gradual turn around the Bellhousing then up through the "trans tunnel" (if that is the correct term) in the rear of the center portion of the dashboard. It then took another "U" loop around until it reached the speedo.

I had to do it all over again I would look into finding a shorter cable and make a more direct route from the trans along the frame rail up through the floor and into the speedo. It is something you just need to play with and make sure you don't have any tight drastic turns.

I am sure someone else has a better idea.
