I tried selling my cobra but to date, only dreamers have called me with no money and no real interest or respect for the car. I genuinely love this car, I am just interested in trading up. Mine is mechanicaly perfect, all bugs have been sorted. It is my impression that there are simply very few buyers for the forseeable future. During the selling process, the tirekickers pointed out a rattle in the sidepipes, replaced, a drop of
oil on the axles, new axle seals, new wheel cylinders, the brakes were too stiff, smaller masters installed, the clutch was too stiff, went with a push style slave from Enzo, works awesome, the door latches were not the chrome ones, replaced, Enzo's also. I had contemplated spending money on leather seats, new dash with more authentic looking VDOs, independent rear suspension etc. but it makes more sense for me to just get another car as I will never be able to recoup the expenses I am referring to. My car can be driven cross country, I would like a 500 and up series SUPERFORMANCE ONLY with at least 5,000 miles. If you're located in the northeast all the better. I am looking to spend no more than $10k plus my car and for that I expect at least a 351 crate motor with 385hp or better and either a top loader or a tremek. Pictures of mine can be seen in the gallery. If interested you can email me for more details.
Looking for a cobra replica that looks good and drives solid? good luck finding one in the low to mid 30s that you can cross state lines with! For somebody out there that doesn't want to part with their superformance but needs some cash, this is like taking our a home equity line, let's you partially cash out and still enjoy the ride.
