Default Re 428 numbers

Mike,

I have a 1969 428 CJ manual and the numbers on mine are on the front right side of the block. The date code is "Cast in raised characters of the iol fileter adapter boss" Date code is YMD type. Y=Calander year, M=Month, D=day of month. Also under the valve covers they should have the same date code stamped in the top of the heads. I have checked mine and they are there. Ignore the 352 on the block as that was a common Ford casting number on every Fe block from the 332 through the 428s.

Y= 1969, A= Jan., D= 1 Mine was January 1, 1969.
