Default A leakdown test is performed by injecting/allowing pressure into the cylinder

Then over a period of time the pressure in the cylinder is monitored for loss...if you lose more than a small amount there is a problem. The comments made by the others here are dead on.

If you don't have the proper equipment for a bleed down test, get ahold of someone who does. water in your cylinder will in short order, destroy The rings at the least.

DON'T run it further, until you find out what is wrong !
