Actually, here is some good news from the Hydrological Prediction center,

ACTIVITY SHOULD TEND TO WEAKEN AND BECOME LESS
ORGANIZED ALONG THE ADVANCING FRONTAL BNDRY ON DAY 2 (=Saturday) AS S/WV TROF UNDERGOES GRADUAL SHEARING AS IT LIFTS NEWD OVER STUBBORN ERN U.S./WRN ATLC UPR RIDGE. THIS SHOULD RESULT IN A GRADUAL SLOWING ALONG THE SRN END OF THE FRONT THRU THE GULF COAST REGION.

the forecasters are being pessimistic as usual in the mainline forecasts, but the translation above is it may not be all that bad in north GA.
