Did your transmission shop happen to give you any brands that they think are better than others. I have the T-5 top loader and my oil in it doesn't look like 90 weight at all. I talked to one shop here but am wondering now as they recommended a good synthetic transmission fluid. I am in no hurry as mine is very clean and I won't be adding any for a long time I hope but would like to know which way is best. I am looking at my Tremec T-5 service manual right now and they say " DO NOT USE GEAR OIL IN THE T-5 TRANSMISSION SINCE THIS MAY DAMAGE THE BLOCKING RING MATERIAL." It says " Most T-5 transmission models use Dextron 11 automatic transmission fluid." And that is what mine looks like when I pull the inspection fluid as it is reddish in color. I am not trying to start an argument but really wonder as I sure don't want to mess mine up if I ever have to do any work on it. Also a locat transmission shop toldme about the same thing but I am not sure I trust them as they have a less than stellar reputation. Thanks for any information.
