I had to replace two Holley mechanical fuel pumps for an FE within the first 1000 miles. When I called Summit for a replacement they were 30 days back ordered!

Only way that is possible is if others also requested warranty replacements.
My guess is Holley sub contracted some of their products to other manufacturers, very likely of Oriental origins, and they screwed that batch up. At least that batch. Not too often Summit is back ordered 30 days on anything especially on something as common as an FE Mechanical fuel pump.
I went with a Carter since. No other choices I know of.
