The air available under my car (very low) is mostly hot engine compartment waste. The originals had outboard brakes. There is one that shows up at SAAC meets with little scoops on the top of the fenders and big holes covered with screen in the back to let the hot air out into the low pressure area. The under-car scoops necessary to get any volume tend to be left in the weeds when I get a little over-exuberant. Besides, it's a race car and function is formost. I called it my homage to F5000. Outboards now, and the snorkle hangs in honor on the wall.
