Denis, I just got back from exchanging my battery...I didn't pay any attention to the high charging on the ammeter, and it fried (took several weeks and a road trip). Anyway, I fixed it by changing the external regulator. Have the charging system checked (free at Auto Zone, Pep Boy, etc.), I bet it's the regulator.
