As it was, Elizabeth and I
did go out in the Cobra on Saturday. We drove about an hour south of home to the
Congaree Swamp National Monument. It's a beautiful wetlands reserve with raised boardwalks throughout which allows for nice nature hikes. And here's the best part: it's free (we're so damned cheap). Cruising through the backroads in the Cobra on a warm, sunny day was a real treat. Stopped at a gas station near I-20 to fill up before the trip. I went inside to pay while my wife stayed in the car. No fewer than 3 people asked her about the car while I was away.
I took it out again last night for a quick drive through town... probably no more than 30 miles round-trip. I picked up my neighbor down the road (who owns a '65 fastback himself) to take him along. We had fun. Kept it below 55 the whole time. My odometer reads more than 1500 miles now.
