What you need is a D3TE heavy duty 391 truck block. Sonic check it and bore it until the cows come home. These were made to take many rebuilds and survive. Mine is bored to 4.13 with plenty left in the walls. I am running a full set of Webers with Ebrock heads, big valves, roller rockers, etc. These blocks are readily available at good prices. They are, however, about 20 lbs heavier than the car block. They have more meat in the crank webs plus the thick cylinder walls.
