Im glad you guys have this topic its given me a lot to think about.I have been wanting to buy a Cobra for a long time and now that all the kids are gone i can change from paying for college for some of the things i wanted in life.Im trying to decide to do the FE or the 385 series motor.I know that the 427 SO is the most classic but the parts for the 460 seem to be cheeper, although with the new FE blocks and cranks it just causes me more confusion.I do have a lot of experience with the 460 my brother bought a 557 stroker kit from Flatlander Racing and finished it off with blue thunder ported heads a custom Hyd roller supplied by them and a 2-4 intake with 2 BG's.........let me tell you if you ever took a ride in this car you would think you were in the space shuttle and going to the moon. Those Ext balanced stock I-beam 514 crate engines with cheap pistons can't even compare, they may be cheap .......but (you get what you pay for). Now not to be out done by my Lil bro, i have ordered a 605 short block from Flatlander for my 69 stang and can't wait til spring.
But for the Cobra???????? the fat lady hasen't sung yet, ill wait to see how things are with the new Gen blocks,if it dosen't work out with the new 427 there will be a 605 under my hood.
