Hi guys,
The bore is 4.32 and the stroke is 4.3. It will have a Scat billet crank with Manley pro-beam rods.
The timing cover is an old Nicson boat cover. I am using a distributorless (Electromotive) 8-port EFI so to eliminate the bronze gear needed (because of the solid roller cam) to drive the oil pump I will be running a Peterson external oil pump with pan vacuum evacuation off of the front of the cam.
The water pump is a 55gpm Mezierie electric that is mounted into the bottom of the radiator. Two -12 an lines feed the coolant into the front of the block. I'm putting the final touches on the hand built EFI tunnel port manifold that will support the 58 mm TWM/Weber throttle bodies. Yes, those are Dove heads! Dove may be the next bird(Pheonix) to rise from the ashes. I had called Earl at Dove to cancel my order (after sending back two sets that were junk). I had been waiting 5 months. He told me that he just shipped my heads and low and behold they showed up that day.
And they looked GOOD! I called Earl back and to thank him. He told me that they are using a new foundry and have changed several things in their finishing techniques. The heads were pressure tested after basic machining and then again after final machining. There are 2 very small areas of casting imperfections but nothing to get excited about. I will pressure test them myself to be safe. I was willing to take a bullet for the club but it looks like it paid off. Dove has enough confidence in their "new" heads that they put them back up on their website.
I will keep all of you informed as progress on the heads and the whole motor continues.
Cheers,
--Mike
