Yer the race series is just a "glamour" thing - the Holdens and Fords racing are a very big departure from the production vehicles.

The race vehicles themselves are pretty archiac. The fans like the current series but personally I preferred the older series.

The Turbo Falcon is getting rave reviews and a mate of mine is looking at swapping his 304 EFI commy for one. A year ago he would have laughed at the idea of owning a Ford!

The GEN III LS1 motored Holdens have had alot of problems from three big issues with the engine package in Australia. The 2002 spec LS1 has fixes, but I was hoping we'd swiitch the 2002 LS6 motor instead. The Tremec T56 is a just a gem of a box, but the race shifters are a must IMHO the factory shift is mushy.

The problem with the commys and Falcons is they just weigh too much. It affects everything, cornering, braking, acceleration. Family sedans will always be that, even if they have a 300KW motor.
