Depends, I guess, on how much you want to exert your right leg, and how fast you may need to stop. Original Cobras, as well as Healys, TR's, MG's didn't have power brakes. One could make a case as to whether these cars did, or did not need power brakes.
Using power brakes does give the driver good control over the braking effort, only more of it. A light touch is all that is needed, and with the correct semi-metallic, or carbon-metallic pads (which need more pedal effort to work properly anyway), braking from any speed is swiftt, sure, and responsive.
Have power brakes, and power steering. Car has better street, and highway manners than without. Driving a sportscar is supposed to be fun, not work. (For one would prefer to get an upper body workout at the gym, not manuvering car in and out of a parking lot.)
Like the rest of life in general, depends on your priorities.
