Maximum pan depth is 8.5" without going below the chassis. (It's in the manual.)
We have connecting tubes for both left and right intake water pumps.
Our "Rushin" has a 351 (I don't know the deck height) with a Victor Jr. manifold. It seems to be a bit taller than the Performer, so you shouldn't have much problem on a 302.

We had to use a drop-base air filter on the 351 though.
