Wink Grundy...

Sam...I'm with Grundy on my SPF. So far, no problems...I had heard they weren't taking on new Cobra policies, due to the high nature of accidents in the first few months of ownership. ONe of my local buddies, a new SPF owner, contacted them and they said they weren't taking on new Cobras, you had to own it for at least two years before they'd even talk to you. Grundy said their statistics showed most accidents occur during the second year of ownership....the first year, most owners are too scared of the power and messing up their baby (don't we all understand that!, but during the second year, owners get cocky and think they can handle a 90" wheelbase with in excess of 500 bhp - WRONG!

Anyway, my policy reads pretty much the same...no to/from work, grocery store, errands, what ever. Only to/from car shows, cruises, club events, etc. My agent said the policy was limited to 3000 miles a year, but I can find no mention of this stipulation in the policy anywhere, and I've read it twice specifically looking for that caveat....couldn't find it. So far, even the 3K/year hasn't been a problem as I just don't drive my car THAT much....I've only got 4300 on it in 2+ years of ownership...so that hasn't been a problem so far as I'm concerned.

Even though the policy specifically mentions I can only drive the car to/from car shows, cruises, club events and the like....funny, there seems to be either a car show, cruise, or club event that just happens to coincide with every pretty afternoon in the year...ain't it funny...?

Bottom line, there are some caveats, just understand them and make your choices based on how these may affect your life. So far, I've not found any of these restrictions to be a problem.

Hope this helps....good luck!
