My .02 cents worth,

When Shelby first started the continuation Cobras I looked into getting one. Even though they are made completely from stored 1966 parts the Calif. DMV. wants their money and told me that since the cars were completed in 1998 or whenever it was, the date the parts were made and stored were irrelevant. Since Shelby is a licensed specialty car manafacturer the cars can't come under SB-100 ( per our DMV ) because they are special construction since they are made from real 1966 parts that were stored. Sort of a paradox I said and then things got really shi--y. My understanding was he is using CSX numbers that they had for these cars and I can't see the DMVs reasoning at all. All of the other 49 states obviously can't either. So they have to meet the smog requitements for the year they were actuallly assembled and shows as sold on the pink slip. I have a 1965 Comet which I pointed out shows sold in 1994 to me so what is the difference. Then I was told to leave as they weren't going to talk to me any more. The Republic of Gray Davis has struck another blow for glorification of stupidy and ignorance.
