TerrySPF: The issue of this thread is ERA vs. SPF. No?

You quoted Oltoff and Bondurant in support of your clear position that the questioner made the right choice and that he should feel good about his choice. No?

I pointed out that, to put it in a nutshell, the Bondurant and Oltoff quote was sales puffing and contained statements that many would disagree with. Including me. I don't need to be a race driver to cite the multiple reasons why I think and many others may think the ERA is better.

You apparently don't like the fact that I pointed out that Bondurant and Oltoff's statement should be taken in the light they are made. Sales pitches.

Do I think SPF sought them out? Don't know. Don't care. Not important. Clearly both sides saw business and $$$ potential. Thats Ok. This is a captialistic society. By the way were there any other companies set up offering a dealer network at the time. Do you know???? Hmmm.

The SPF is a very nice car. I've said it before. No problem with that. I don't think you can go wrong buying a SPF. Have no problem with the questioners choice. In fact I don't care what he chooses but he asked a question and I and others have responded to it. You may not like my response. Thats OK. I don't like many responses others make. Thats OK.

Your twisted interpretation of what I've said in my posts over the last 8 weeks is well...twisted/incorrect. But if thats how you interpret it. Fine. Thats your problem.

Call your car a Cobra. Call it what ever you like. Its ok with me.

As to making myself feel better or look better. Nah. I feel fine and look marvelous.

I think based on the tone of you statements and your "pointed" reference to the CSX as a "REPLICA" and the intimation that they are over priced is a clear and unambiguous effort to knock my car and other CSXs. In fact the only knocking that has gone here has been by you.

I don't have to make myself feel better because I bought a CSX. I feel great. And yes, there is no question in my mind that outside of an original 427S/C the new CSX is the "brass ring".

And yes. The CSX is a "replica" by definition of the original Shelby. An exact replication in fact down to every part. The difference is mine is a Cobra yours is a replica Cobra. You apparently don't like that fact as demonstrated by your demeaning statements. Sorry. (Maybe its really you that thinks your car is below the "belly of the Cobra". I never thought of it that way. Interesting.)

Thats not a knock. Thats the facts. If you think stating the facts in reponse to knocks by you and others in effort to tear down something you don't have but obviously would like to have is classless then I'm classless. Oh well.

Finally. I drive my car during the season every weekend. Take the kids in it. Drive it to work. Go out to dinner at night in it. No problem driving it at all. Great car. I have freinds with CSXs that drive the wheels off them also. Why would you be afraid to drive it?

Bandit 1: A friend of mine has a CSX with an aluminum 427. He runs mid 10's in the 1/4 mi.
