I checked with my State Farm agent before the body/chassis was delivered and ended up taking out a separate personal articles policy for coverage during the build. It costs about $1 per month per $1000 of coverage. Well worth it, IMHO.

In our conversation, found out he is a street rodder and familiar with insuring specialty vehicles. I hope that helps when the time comes.
