Hey Rob, how's it going bud? We've got to get together over the next few weekends to scout Valley Forge again.
Compared to the Cobra, your 'Vette has the wheelbase of a school bus. The Cobras' wheelbase is about a foot shorter, and the car weighs about 1000lbs less. It's SO MUCH easier to make the car change directions. Like I said, my car originally had the stock Mustang power steering rack, and it was nuts. No joke, sneezing hard enough would make me change lanes. This is because with the power steering, it was far too easy to turn the wheel, and any slight movement of your hand would move the wheel. With such short wheelbase and light weight, the car went where it was pointed.
Like I said, I changed to the Flaming River 18:1 rack. That is 4 turns lock to lock. If you never race the car, it will be fine for the street. As I mentioned to you, I hate the rack, I can't wait to get it out. But that's because I can't race it like I want. I will put in a 15:1 manual rack. Putting power assist on a rack that quick will be suicide. Trust me, and other owners, and ESPECIALLY DV, the effort required to park a manual steering Cobra isn't that bad. You'll be happy to have the trade off.
Hey DV, what's this rack you guys sell? I'm dying to rip the 18:1 Flaming River out of my car. I literally can't steer fast enough with it on the autox course. I've got to get mine out.

No, it ain't "real", but it's real fast....
Some people choose to rattle their windows with stereos and speakers... I choose to rattle windows with my right foot.
