I may as well get my .02 cents worth in. I agree with the ground theory. What I did was ground my battery to the frame as the battery is in the trunk. Then I have two ground straps from the frame to the motor and one to the cowel bar. All of my instruments are on a seperate ground to frame. Of course I had to keep a schematic of all the changes so I can work on it if I ever have to but I have never had a problem since I did this. There is no such thing as to much ground on a fiberglass car. You can also try cutting your headlight lead out in the motor compartment at a place where you can add a relay and then use the lead from the car to operate the relay, putting your battery through the relay contacts. Also make sure that the headlights have a good ground.
