Jordan XLR8OR,
Thanks for the question and sorry for the delay. It has been a zoo around here.
We are selling the cars in a minimal form because we are just testing out the market. We are exploring different avenues to sell the cars. Actually, I am quite surpirsed there are so many people who look at e-bay. We have had numerous calls, and e-mails from all sorts of people. Many of them current customers who didnt' know we had 289 FIA cars for sale.
We figured we would sell the cars like they are for a couple of reasons. Frankly, we are not sure what the best way to sell the cars is and we are exploring other avenues. E-bay has mostly worked for us...but there have been some incredible deals where we have let some parts go for below our cost. It is all part of advertising and marketing and figuring out what will work and what will not.
As time goes on, we are offering more and more options on our cars. For example:
Wilwood brakes
adjustable heim-jointed suspensions
Jag differential/vs original differential
Lexan windshields
Smiths vs Autometer gauges
etc.
All of these things have a bearing on the final cost of the car. Some of them are very expensive and a lot of money can be saved if you want different things on your car and are not so concerned about 100% authenticity.
We are letting the customer decide what they want to do and how they want to spend their money. Interestingly, we are finding more and more people want the upgrade parts...which, suprisingly, are usually much less expensive. We are expanding our market into other potential customers we didn't have in past years. So far we are happy with the results.
Please let me know if there are any other questions I can answer for you, or let me know if you would like me to explain anything further. Thank you for your interest in our cars and have a great day!
David
