Cool OCC Meeting Update

This is going to be a long message so hang with me! First, thanks to everyone who showed. I know it was tough sledding (LOL) for some of you to get here, 'specially the guys form the north (Steve & Al) and South. DV, Diane, thanks to you. Darren (MAC Tools, a DVSFIII Sponsor) Craig (Mid Ohio Rgn , SCCA, a supporter) Dr. Kahn (I'm not sure of the spelling) Madison County Airport Commissioner) et. al. THANKS!!

I have been asked and have accepted the oppotunity to lead this ostentatious group for the next year or so. I am truly flattered!

Our direction for the next year will be more focused in several ways. I WANT INPUT!!

Doug Isham (ddijli@mediaone.net) has agreed to maintain the club roster (now over 100 members-you know that everyone who owns, eats, sleeps, thinks, wants, dreams Cobras is a member) so get in touch with Doug to make sure you are on our E-Mail, & newsletter list.

Speaking of newsletters, I would like to publish a newsletter. I think we need something to keep us up on activities, events maybe even tech stuff and anything else. I also ask for donations to help defray the overhead (postage, paper). What ever you think is O.K. $1.00/2.00? Does someone out there want to do a newsletter? Help!

Each of the Chapters need to start thinking about fundraising opportunities. Car shows, raffle ticket sales (for the Kirkham), rides in a Cobra, whatever to raise funds for Team Jenny and CF.
Some of you have said we, as a Club, need to make a monatary contribution to CF and Team Jenny so-o-o, lets do it!! I'm trying to set up car shows with Germain Ford and Graham Ford here, in Columbus. I'm also trying to get them as sponsors.

Now for the BIG news. This is going to blow your sox off!! DV has asked OCC to take on the biggest event of DVSFIII!! On Sunday, at Madison County Airport, there will be a modified SCCA event. All the details are not final as yet, I'm meeting with DV and The SCCA Pres as well as Madison Cty Apt Commissioners next Tues (25th) so stay tuned. We're going to need a lot of help on this one. So far, I know it will involve bleachers, pot-a-potties, traffic control, crowd control, boy & girl scouts, hanger space, waivers and who knows what else. So if you're looking for a chance to participate on some level-please e-Mail me with your desires.

That's it for now-stay tuned- news at 11-LOL
