A hint

Always use anti-seize on the threads mating the base and cap. They have been known to gall badly together if there's a flaw on the threads.

Hint #2:

Before you drill holes in the body for the base, assemble everything together firmly. Mark the holes in the body with your preferred cap orientation (and mark the base direction too), then you can disassemble for installing the fasteners.
