I talked to my engine builder about using the Dart block. He had not used one before, but he immediately ordered one with which to experiment. I think that we will build a 351 Sportsman stroked to about 408 cid that is able to run on 90 octane gas and generate near 500 hp. It will be a very dependable and streetable engine. As for the Dart, he said that he would build it but he would prefer his not learning at my expense. Also, since I am not track, road, or drag racing, he said that I really do not need the cubes or hp.

My builder, John Vermeerch. is considered the Ford Racing expert. His shop is the technical support line for Ford Racing questions. They know Ford engine inside and out. They are interested in the Dart and indicate that it might be very good in certain applications, but more than I need.

If you can find a person with the expertise, the idea of a 427 Dart does sound cool.
