I had the same problem, but it was with polishing the aluminum prop on my airplane. I'd get the thing where I could shave in its reflection after using Mother's or Neverdull, but the next day the finish was a dull oxidized mess.
Then I ran into this fellow at the Charlotte Auto Fair who was pushing his polish. Since I was at the same frustration level as you, I bought the stuff. Turns out it works better than anything I've ever used to both polish and protect against corrosion. The product name is 200 MPH All Metal Polish. I was surprised. It really worked! I use it on the Cobra's gas cap and stainless side pipes with great results. Check it out on the following web site:

As for ZOOP, I have never heard of it. But 200 MPH polish goes on easy and wipes off easy, too. It's not like the typical metal polish that is nearly impossible to get off once it dries . . . and the stuff doesn't require much elbow grease.
