It might also help to put your car on a chassis dyno to find out when the torque starts dropping off. Mine starts dropping off around 5600 RPM, so there's no sense in spinning it much beyond 5800. The engine sounds awesome at 6000 or even 7000, but what's the point? I can shift sooner, cause less wear and tear,
and achieve faster acceleration. You may find the same scenario with your engine.
