Chaplin - Personally, I don't think they COULD have done anything to the current owner unless they had evidence that he tried to defraud the state when registering his car in CA. The state of CA is only concerned with getting paid guys - plain and simple...The fact that Cobrap51d was the unsuspecting buyer of a car whose title was "washed" is not the issue; the issue is making sure it is titled properly under SB100 and paying the appropriate taxes. And I'm sure the State Attorney Gen. will be going after TU in other states...Why ??? Casue California is loosing $ in vehicle registration.
