Turk, I tried doing the math, doubling birthdays since the age of 17 and then adding the original 17 years, but then adding up the 17 years to 1945 to get me to 1962 and then doubling up I got so confused

Now I need to know about this short courtship prior to marriage. You see my 20 year old daughter is in love with a 22 year old Turkish boy (a student here from Turkey) who is about to graduate in May. He is a great kid and I have no complaints. Is this a common practice with you Turks? Do I need to worry about planning a wedding so he can stay in the states?
