Well it is fascinating news! And while trying to be "nice" about it, it does raise some questions about "authenticity" issues.
Since this is an "All-Pro Coupe" that will carry a CSX number I GUESS that means they build a "really good Coupe" all ready? If so, how accurate is it? Will the "new order" of 10 be any different in some way? Was the mold splashed from a real Coupe?
This DOES blur the line between what "consitutes" a "real" Shelby in my mind, I mean I'm "really" confused! Does C.S. himself need to be involved in some meaningful way for it to be "authentic"?
I think I'm beginning to understand how the whole "marketing" thing works. Like the Shelby Omnis, I would guess that deal was little more than a C.S. marketing promotion. Hey, thats OK I guess, maybe thats just the way business is done by everyone in the car world? Or the South African connection to the 427 Cobras, whats up with that? Same kind of thing?
OK, OK, it's marketing. Clearly the name "Shelby" is a very powerful marketing tool. The man has a right to use it how ever and where ever he can. It will be awesome having some Coupes around to drool over.
sigh..........but something is lost when it all boils down to a "signature" only series car.
