Not sure if you are the same guy that e-mailed me.
I would be disappointed in somebody if they actually charged you for a ride. Mine is sold and I am currently building a Spec Racer so I don't have one to offer a ride. I can say this with confidence that I have yet to run across anybody that was disappointed after a ride. They generally had a from ear to ear and there were some that did the death grip on the carpet on the tunnel and begged me to slow down.
As for manufactures, we have most of them represented in our club. Each one is a little different in their own way. Some are on the top end of value and some are on the lower end of value. Some are for show and some are for go. Really depends on what you want out of the car and your budget.
My story as to why I decided to build a Factory 5 Spec Racer is the first Factory 5 I owned, I did not build. Well after owning it I had no doubt that I wanted to build one so I knew I was going to be selling it. During the time of owning it I realized that I also wanted a track car that could be street legal and reliable and the Spec Racer fit the bill. Only one downfall to owning a Spec Racer is the doors do not open because they are bolted shut so you have to climb in and out. I am still young so this is not a problem for now.
So I urge you to see all the different types that are in our club before you decide. Each one has their own personality and no car is the same.
