I don't believe the PI had the extra ribs, only the CJ.

The only thing that designated the the 428 a 'PI' was the PI intake mannifold.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong as I don't have my FE bible handy.

And of course, a CJ can be identified by looking for the extra ribs cast in the main bearing area, or more easily by looking for the large, roughly cast "C" on the back of the block.
