The originals used a six bladed aluminum fan, approximately 10" in diameter.

The fans were spaced 10.5" apart, (fan centerline to centerline).

For cosmetic effects, you can use both. If you are building a car, my suggestion is to run a Spal 16" puller fan wired to automatically open at operating temp. You can wire up a set of twin pushers, operated by dash switch, but you will find they will be best relegated to cosmetic function.
